Which JanSport backpack holds what? The litres side by side

JanSport lists the capacity of many of its packs, so you can choose by litres.

• SuperBreak One: 25 L, one large main compartment, about 0.3 kg.
• Union Pack: 27 L, one large main compartment and two side water bottle pockets.
• Right Pack: 28 L, in 915 denier Cordura with suede.
• Main Campus: 32 L, two large main compartments and side compression straps.

The Half Pint is the mini backpack of the range, small and light with one main compartment. The Big Student sits at the other end, with two large main compartments.

Do you carry a laptop?

Then look for a padded sleeve. The Big Student, Main Campus, Right Pack, Union Pack, Cool Student and Lodo Pack all list a padded 15 inch laptop sleeve or compartment, and the Flex Pack lists a 15 inch laptop sleeve. The Cross Town Plus builds on the Cross Town by adding a padded laptop sleeve for a laptop up to 15 inches, a reinforced back panel and a padded base.

Lunch bags, waist packs and pouches

JanSport is not only backpacks. The Lunch Break Insulated Cooler Bag holds 5 L and opens flat to use as a tray. The Fifth Avenue Waist Pack holds 2.5 L and the Swing Waistpack holds 4 L. Accessory pouches keep pens, cords and small items in order inside a bigger bag.

If you carry books and a laptop to school, start with the Big Student or the Main Campus. For a light day, the SuperBreak One is enough. Compare other brands in backpacks and lunch bags.
