Indoor or beach volleyball?

Every volleyball here is from Wilson, and the first choice is where you play. Indoor balls and beach balls are built differently.

• Indoor: the Wilson Pro Tour has a synthetic leather cover, a wound carcass and V-Tec seams, and Wilson calls it an indoor volleyball. The Helix Club is an economical, durable ball for club, youth and recreational play.
• Beach: the AVP Movement, AVP Oasis and Shoreline Eco are machine sewn with 18 panels, which Wilson says helps them hold their shape. The AVP Oasis has a soft-touch synthetic leather cover, and the AVP PXL a recycled TPU cover.

Soft balls for casual games

If you play for fun, a softer cover makes a difference on the forearms. The Wilson Softplay has a sponge-backed synthetic leather cover made for backyard, park or beach games. The AVP OPTX Replica Kaleidoscope has a textured EVA foam cover, and the Stamp volleyball has a soft synthetic cover with an 18-panel machine-sewn build.

What does VST mean?

VST stands for Visual Spin Technology. On the Helix Club, alternating blue and white panels use colour to make the ball's spin easier to see and track. The AVP OPTX Replica also uses VST, so you can see when spin has been put on the ball.

Fans of the film Cast Away will find the Wilson Cast Away volleyball here, a replica with a synthetic leather cover, plus a Castaway Mini.

If you play in a club or a school team indoors, start with the Helix Club. For the beach, start with the AVP Oasis. For family games in the park, choose the Softplay. You can also see all volleyball gear, kids' balls or balls and pumps.
