SOFTFOAM+, PROFOAM or NITRO: what Puma's foam names mean
Most Puma shoes on this page name the foam inside. Each name points to a different job, so it is the quickest way to narrow down the range.
- SOFTFOAM+: the sockliner in Puma's everyday sneakers, such as the Palermo, Suede XL and Club II. Several of them pair it with an extra-thick heel for all-day comfort.
- PROFOAM: a lightweight EVA foam. On the PWR Hybrid TR training shoe it cushions your landing, next to PUMAGRIP rubber for traction and a TPU heel clip for stability during lifts.
- NITRO: Puma's nitrogen-injected foam for running. The Voyage Nitro 3 trail shoe has a full NITROFOAM midsole, and the Electrify NITRO 3 blends NITRO foam with PROFOAMLITE for daily runs.
If you run several times a week, a NITRO shoe is the natural choice. Compare them with other Puma running shoes.
Classic sneakers and motorsport styles
Puma's everyday range leans on its archive. The Palermo Leather has a natural leather and synthetic upper, with suede overlays on the toe and heel, the areas that wear fastest. The Easy Rider Leather is a classic profile with a vintage feel from the Puma archives, on a lightweight ProFoam EVA midsole.
Puma also works with Scuderia Ferrari and BMW M Motorsport. The Ferrari Drift Cat 11 carries Ferrari's colours on a sleek synthetic upper, and the BMW M Motorsport RS-X brings motorsport style to Puma's bulky RS-X shape.
Shoes are most of this page, but it also carries T-shirts, pants, shorts, tracksuits, backpacks and sports bags. Browse Puma bags and accessories for the rest.
For everyday wear, start with a SOFTFOAM+ sneaker such as the Palermo. For regular runs, choose a NITRO shoe.
