Charged Cushioning or UA HOVR: which Under Armour running shoe?
Many adult Under Armour running shoes use one of two cushioning systems, and the product description names it. Know the two names and choosing gets much faster.
Charged Cushioning is a compression-molded foam. You find it under everyday runners such as the Surge 4, Charged Pursuit 4, Rogue 4, Speed Swift and Sonic 7. Under Armour pitches the Surge 4 at everyday runs.
UA HOVR is the other system. Under Armour says HOVR reduces impact and returns energy on the HOVR Sonic 6 and on the HOVR Turbulence 2, a shoe for distance runners. The Infinite Pro pairs soft, springy HOVR foam with a secure fit. See all Under Armour running gear.
Under Armour training shoes for the gym
For lifting, the shoe to know is the TriBase Reign 6. Its dual-density midsole is softer in the forefoot and firmer in the heel. The UA TriBase outsole maximises ground contact and gives you the flexibility to grip during lifts.
The Charged Commit TR 5 is a versatile men's trainer with Charged Cushioning and a rubber outsole, and the women's Dynamic Select is another gym option. More pairs are in Under Armour training.
Basketball, slides and kids' shoes
On the court, the Lockdown 7 Low has a low-cut profile built for fast cuts and quick stops. After training, the Locker V slides have drainage ports that move water away from your foot, and the UA ARMR Shower Slides have a textured outsole for grip on wet surfaces. For children, the Surge 4 AC adds a hook-and-loop strap for easy on and off. Find more in Under Armour kids.
If you run most days, start with the Surge 4. If you lift more than you run, choose the TriBase Reign 6 for women or the Charged Commit TR 5 for men.
